My choice to come to Varndean was mainly
motivated - at 昀椀rst - by the IB. However, as I
came to know the college and what being a student
meant here, it was reinforced over and over again that
I certainly made the right choice. The community, the
green spaces, the brilliant teachers ... are all things that
make me so glad I made this choice, and all things I
wish I'd known earlier!

I enjoy the way the IB subjects cross
over each other in interesting (and
very often unexpected) ways. What
I learned in ESS later appeared in
Philosophy, whilst studying English
gave me the necessary tools to
analyse sources in History.
I entered the Tower Poetry
Competition and came within the
national Top 10! I also got to attend
the World of Words at Cambridge,
which was an awesome experience
for anyone hoping to pursue
literature or language at university.
My favourite aspect of
he course, though, is the
community aspect. The IB
feels like a college-within-acollege and Im leaving with
friends for life!"
