All students also follow the Core Programme.
This is made up of:
THEORY OF
KNOWLEDGE (TOK)
You study the foundations of
knowledge in particular areas. Your
essay is externally assessed whilst
your presentation is assessed by
your tutor. Both count towards your
昀椀nal mark.

I was drawn in by the IB Diploma programme. as
I saw it as a good way to challenge myself and
work towards the best version of myself. I wanted to
challenge myself academically and push myself to the
best of my abilities. I also wanted to be able to make a
competitive university application that would stand out
amongst others.

In addition to my lessons, I attended
talks on pain perception by a chief
medical o昀케cer talk, which were
quite insightful and helped me to
learn more about what I want to
study in the future.
CREATIVITY, ACTIVITY,
SERVICE (CAS)
A central, worthwhile and exciting
part of the IB programme. You will
take part in a variety of extracurricular activities, comprising
some artistic or creative work,
昀椀tness and volunteering in the
community similiar to the Duke of
Edinburgh's Award.
THE EXTENDED ESSAY (EE)
You will write an extended essay
of 4,000 words which researches a
topic of particular interest to you
in any subject. A teacher will work
with you individually to help you
prepare, write and present your
project. The essay is externally
assessed and counts towards your
昀椀nal mark.
I also won a partial scholarship to
a summer school at Cambridge
(worth £2k), a gold CREST
award, participated in a
Libra essay competition,
and a Minds medicine
competition.
I now plan to study
Physiotherapy at UEA."
