THE STUDENT EXPERIENCE
At Varndean Sixth Form College, not
only do we care about your educational
achievements, but also your entire student
experience whilst you are studying with us.
Our Enrichment Programme is at the heart
of the College community and forms an
essential part of the learning journey for all
students. When you apply, you will be asked
to select an enrichment activity which will
be added to your timetable upon enrolment.
Enrichment is compulsory for all Year One
students.
You can choose an enrichment that
supports your qualification choices, or try
something completely different! Some of
the enrichment courses have a qualification
attached and others are focused on
development outside of structured lessons/
assessment aims.
Some examples of enrichment include:
a wide range of sporting activities, such
as basketball, football, netball, rugby and
Duke of Edinburgh
creative courses, such as ceramics,
crochet, creative writing, drama, funk
band, stage production and 3D modelling
community activities, including
board games, Citizens UK, Climate &
Environment Action Group, Ethnicity &
Identity Discussion Group, Law Society,
Philosophy Society, Politics Society
personal development, such as journaling,
meditation, reading challenge, wellbeing
personal progression, such as our Aspire
Programme, Dance Audition Toolkit,
Employability Skills, Maths Club, and our
MedVetDent Programme
