STUDENT UNION
In the Spring term of Year One, students have the opportunity to represent their
peers by being elected as part of the Student Union Leadership team. The SU
represents students’ views and ideas, in order to be an effective and legitimate
voice of the student body at Varndean Sixth Form College, putting forward any
suggestions that students would like to see implemented.
The Student Union also have the opportunity to assist at many college events, such
as our Year 10 Taster Days, New Students’ Day and Open Events, as well as organise
their own events such as the annual Culture Week and Year 2 Leavers Party.
Being part of the SU teaches students many transferable skills, such as democracy,
communication and teamwork, and is valuable life experience to gain and include
on a CV, UCAS personal statement, or a job application.
